42 day Residential Care (recommended)
The 42 day Residential Care program includes a six week cycle of addiction themed programming including: diagnostic assessment, medical evaluation, peer and group therapy, a solid foundation to the 12 steps, life skills strategies, spiritual development, relapse prevention and 6 weekends of family program. Research indicates that a 42 day program allows for the best chance of long term recovery.

The 28 day Residential Care program is an abbreviated form of the 42 day program.

10 day Introduction to Recovery
This is an introduction to the 12 steps and living clean and sober. After the 10 days, we hope that our clients will come to see the benefits of staying for one of our Residential Care programs.
Specialized Opiate Detox
The Orchard Staff includes an internationally renowned medical Addictionologist. A detox protocol has been designed specifically for clients wishing to detox from opiates such as codeine, heroin, percodan, oxycodone and Demerol. Detoxification protocols can be developed for any other chemical addiction including stimulants such as cocaine, crack cocaine, crystal meth, and methamphetamine as well as prescription drugs.
*Please note that this is NOT a rapid opiate detox procedure.
**The Primary Program begins the first day the client is able to attend a full day of group programming.

Family Weekend Program
Addiction affects the whole family. Clients should invite family members to attend family programming every Saturday at The Orchard. The Saturday sessions include an educational seminar, lunch and group sharing. Once a month, we offer an extended two-day (Friday-Saturday) seminar and an introduction to Alanon.

Alumni Day
An Alumni Celebration Day is held the last Thursday of the month. Alumni are invited for lunch followed by afternoon group and cake celebration. Every other Thursday, Alumni are invited for dinner and are welcome to attend a 12 step evening meeting at the residence. Click here for more info.
Alumni Aftercare
A "Friends of the Orchard" Alumni 12-Step meeting takes place regularly in North Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Seattle to support aftercare and help prevent relapse. Click here for more info about these meetings.
Alumni Follow-up
The Orchard regularly contacts Alumni for one year to assist in the alumni's aftercare plan.
Alumni Website
Alumni of The Orchard are given private access to an Alumni-run website that offers ongoing aftercare support.

Sober Living / Extended Care
The Women's or Men's Extended Care Program is available to anyone who has completed a primary care treatment program at any treatment center. This program provides less restrictive, on-going assistance to transition the individual into a healthy social structure. A limited amount of programming activies are required. Residents have the flexibility to engage in work and/or schooling if they desire. Stays may range from one month or longer. Click here for more info.
Long Term Post Primary Care
This program is for individuals who have completed our 42 Day Residential Care program and wish to continue with a longer Primary program.

| The Orchard has a full gym and a seasonal outdoor pool for clients to use during their free time.
Personal appointments with a massage or Shiatsu Therapist, Physiotherapist, Chiropractor, or Naturopath, and other services such as esthetic services can be arranged. |  |  |
 | | During their free time, many clients also enjoy the outdoor pursuits that our location on Bowen Island offers - including golf and sea kayaking.
The Bowen Island Golf Club is a full length 9 hole course designed by Russ Olson that features magnificent views of Howe Sound.
Bowen Island Sea Kayaking offers guided and non-guided sea kayaking trips and rentals.
