Substance Abuse Treatment Center - Bowen Island
The Orchard substance abuse treatment center is situated on Bowen Island, just outside Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Our rehab center residence is a former four-star resort featuring very comfortable guest rooms with fireplaces and queen size beds. Clients can relax by the large stone fireplace in the lounge, walk through the gardens or sit by the pool. We have a fully equipped gym and fitness center and limited phone and internet access is provided. Wholesome and nutritious meals are a vital part of recovery and our dining room is headed by first rate chefs.
Our administration and sober living homes are located on three additional island properties. Bowen Island (20 sq. miles) is approximately the same size as Manhattan Island (22.96 sq. miles), but the environment could not be more different. Bowen Island is a rural enclave, inhabited by approximately 3,400 farmers and framers, doctors and dog walkers, musicians and mechanics, artists and architects. The rural environment provides a peaceful environment where our clients break free of the drug and alcohol addictions that bind them.
Getting to Bowen Island is easy. It takes approximately one hour from Vancouver International Airport, 40 minutes from Downtown Vancouver, or three-and-a-half hours from Seattle, Washington. The final leg of the trip is a 20-minute ferry ride (drive or walk on) from the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal.
For more information about visiting Bowen Island, including ferry schedules, please refer to our Visitor Information page. For more general information about the island, refer to www.bowenisland.org.
