The ongoing process of recovery involves self-help, supportive friends and lifestyle changes. As their substance abuse treatment at The Orchard draws to an end, clients work with counselors and their Step Coaches to develop an individualized after-treatment care program. Aftercare ensures that the elements of a good recovery plan are in place before the client leaves our residential drug and alcohol treatment program. Clients who complete our 28- or 42-day program are also entitled to the following services at no charge:
Thursday Night Dinner Every Thursday, Orchard alumni are invited to join us for a delicious roast beef dinner and the evening meeting at the Primary Care residence.
Alumni Celebration Days The last Thursday of every month is "Alumni Celebration Day". Alumni can join us for lunch and special programming events (i.e. guest speakers and sobriety anniversary celebrations), after which they are welcome to stay for dinner and the evening meeting.
Continuing Care programs take place at our West Vancouver Addictions Services office and include counseling, our Continuing Care Program and our Outpatient Program.
Friends of the Orchard (FOO) Meetings "FOO" Meetings are 12-step meetings facilitated by The Orchard and attended by our alumni community. They provide a bridge between the substance abuse treatment facility and the outside community and take place regularly in West Vancouver, Victoria, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton and Seattle. FOO meetings are based on Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous and assist clients in maintaining their aftercare plans. FOO Meetings Schedule.
Alumni Follow-up Addiction recovery is an ongoing process and The Orchard's Step Coaches and counselors actively support clients for a full year after they leave treatment.
24-Hour Help Line Alumni may contact The Orchard anytime, day or night, if they feel the need to speak with an Orchard staff member.

I heard someone at a 12 step meeting say that people with long term sobriety have one thing in common – an unwavering passion for their recovery program. The Celebration of Success Day at the Orchard gave me an immeasurable injection of passion for my sobriety program. Staying connected to the Orchard; fellow alumni, staff and current clients, is the cornerstone of my relapse prevention plan. The Orchard is where my new life began and because of events such as Alumni Day my growth continues and I hope in turn contributes to the recovery of another suffering alcoholic or addict. THANK YOU !!!!!!!!! Craig T.
